The heat treatment operation is designed to reduce the residual stresses caused by welding. Parts are heated to temperatures close to 600°C in accordance with an established law of progression. The temperature of the part, and the differences between the different points, are checked by sensors connected to a PLC controlling the various burners. The progress of the process is recorded throughout the cycle. Our furnace can treat parts up to 20 metres in length, 8.5 m in diameter and 140-tonnes unit weight.
